GRE (Graduate Record Examination)

The Graduate Record Examination (GRE) is a standardized test administered by the Educational Testing Service (ETS), designed to assess a candidate’s readiness for graduate-level academic work. The GRE is widely accepted by over 1,000 Master’s and Doctoral programs, including many MBA programs and other courses, making it an essential part of the admissions process for aspiring graduate students. Additionally, the GRE can enhance eligibility for merit-based scholarships when applying for studies abroad. Importantly, there are no age restrictions for taking the GRE, and since July 2021, ETS has allowed the use of Aadhar cards as valid student IDs for those without a passport.

The Quantitative Reasoning section tests your understanding of basic mathematics and your ability to apply mathematical techniques to solve problems. Topics covered include:

    • Arithmetic
    • Algebra
    • Geometry
    • Data analysis
The use of a calculator is allowed during this section, and no advanced mathematical topics like trigonometry or calculus are included.
  3. Verbal Reasoning
The Verbal Reasoning section evaluates your ability to understand and analyze written material. It includes tasks such as:

    • Comprehension: Reading and understanding passages.
    • Text Completion: Completing sentences based on context.
    • Sentence Equivalence: Selecting the best pair of words to complete a sentence.

GRE Scoring
