Duolingo English Test

The Duolingo English Test is a one-hour online exam designed to assess English language proficiency. It consists of two main sections:

1. Introduction and Onboarding (5 minutes)
   The introductory section familiarizes candidates with the test format and ensures that your computer’s camera, speakers, and microphone are functioning properly. During this phase, you will also be required to submit a government-issued photo ID and review the test guidelines and criteria.

2. Adaptive Test (45 minutes)
   This section is a 45-minute adaptive assessment designed to evaluate your English skills through a variety of question types, including multiple-choice, fill-in-the-blanks, and matching. The difficulty level of the questions adjusts based on your performance, ensuring the test is tailored to your proficiency level.

3. Writing and Speaking Sample (10 minutes)
   Although this section is not scored, it assesses your fluency in written and spoken English. You will have 30 seconds to select a question to respond to, such as describing an image, discussing a scenario, or speaking on a given topic for a brief period.
